KHADKI: In an interesting encounter, Pune Police pipped out Commandos 2-1 in the PDFA Senior Division Super League Football matches played at Range Hills Ground here on Monday.
For Pune Police, Bapu Raikar struck twice in the 12th and 18th minute in first half of the game. The losing team played a good game in the second and posted one goal in the 30th minute when S Ansari banged one in past the diving Pune Police goalkeeper.
They continued their attacking game till the last minute, but could not succeed in scoring an equalizer.
Meanwhile, Rahul Sports Club trounced AFK 1-0 in another game. The lone goal came from Prakash Satane in the 10th minute of the match. The winning team, thereafter, failed to increase their lead, thanks to their cautious approach.
RESULTS: Pune Police (Bapu Raikar 2) bt Commandos 1 (S Ansari); Rahul Sports Club 1 (Prakash Satane) bt AFK 0.
